The Art of Sculptural Jewellery: Luisa Farah's Cross-Cultural Design Journey
Jewellery tells stories. Not just of the wearer, but of the maker - of hands shaping metal, of ideas formed through landscapes, memories, and material.
For Luisa Farah, founder and designer of her namesake Luisa Farah Jewellery, the story begins in Querétaro, Mexico, where her love for form and structure was first shaped. Her architectural training sharpened an eye for proportion, balance and spatial awareness - a foundation that now guides every curve and contour of her designs.
Today, Luisa is based in Wellington, New Zealand. Her studio, nestled between the rawness of the southern coast and the quiet hum of the city, is where each piece is designed and handcrafted. This distance from Mexico isn’t a divide, but a connection. The organic fluidity of the Pacific meets the warmth and boldness of her Mexican heritage, resulting in pieces that are powerful, sculptural, and full of intent.
Her work is grounded in considered design. Sterling silver and gold are the mediums; light, shadow, and line are the tools. You’ll find the influence of architecture throughout the collection - not in sharp angles or overt references, but in the clarity and balance of each form. Pieces feel both modern and enduring, with enough presence to be worn alone, and enough softness to be layered.
“I want people to feel a connection to the jewellery they wear. To choose it for a reason, even if that reason is just how it makes them feel.”
The result is a collection of pieces that feel deeply personal - a ring that becomes part of your daily rhythm, a necklace that marks a moment, a pair of earrings that catch the light just right.
This is jewellery with a story. Jewellery that reflects a journey of places, influences and design principles brought to life in silver and gold.
